| Lady Bruins soccer sweeps at Hendersonville Classic Brentwood Home Page news reports The Hendersonville Labor Day Invitational Soccer tournament was the site of three contests for the Lady Bruins. Starting on Saturday, the Lady Bruins played three games against competition from the Memphis area. On Saturday, the Lady Bruins played the St. George Gryphon's the A/AA 2009 State Champions. | BA avenges past two losses, beats Father Ryan 45-7
By CARSON FANT For Brentwood Home Page The Brentwood Academy Eagles’ offense racked up 429 yards of offense and 17 first downs on their way to an easy 45-7 victory over regional foe Father Ryan. The Eagles, 3-0 and ranked No. 1 in Division II Class AA, put up more than 40 points for the third time this season. | Lady Bruins soccer soundly defeats Hendersonville 5 -1 Brentwood Home Page news reports Brentwood High School’s Lady Bruins soccer team had their first regular season game at home Tuesday night against rival Hendersonville High School’s Lady Commandos. It didn’t take long for BHS to take the lead when senior Carly Overmyer put it in the net off a cross from sophomore Cammy Gilfillan only 55 seconds in to the game. In the eighth minute, senior Audrey Howard drilled it to the middle from the right and Marie Alford finished the ball. The Lady Bruins defense led by senior Kelsay Neely maintained control of their backfield and held HHS off from any scoring attempts for 35 minutes. Read More >>

| FALL SPORTS OUTLOOK: Cross Country
By CAROL STUART For Brentwood Home Page This could be the year the Brentwood High boys hoist the boys cross country championship trophy, while the Ravenwood girls are among contenders to bring home their first girls' title. RHS junior Conley Chitwood will be among the top competitors individually, along with the core of the BHS team -- Ryan Gadsey, Nathan Thomas and Paul Stuart. Junior Erika Peoples heads up the Lady Raptors team, and the junior class is also strong for the Lady Bruins team.

| RHS baseball coach will move to Summitt in '11 Kirby will also be AD at new high school Brentwood Home Page news reports Ravenwood head baseball coach Chad Kirby will be moving to Summit High next year to serve as athletic director and baseball coach, Williamson County Schools announced. Williamson County’s newest high will open in the Spring Hill-Thompson's Station area in August 2011, and Kirby will join the faculty during the summer.

New coach for Lady Bruins; RHS, BA ready to play By CAROL STUART For Brentwood Home Page The Brentwood High girls soccer team returns the nucleus from last year's undefeated regular season, but the Lady Bruins have a new coach for 2010. Division II team Brentwood Academy went undefeated in Middle Tennessee last year and returns some key players, but will start six underclassmen. And Ravenwood plays its first seven games on the road -- including the Baylor tournament in Chattanooga Aug. 27-28.

BHS voted among top contenders in 6A football Coaches rank BA second in state in II-AA Brentwood Home Page news reports Brentwood High, one play away from the state football Class 6A finals last season, is picked to win its district and is ranked fifth statewide in coaches' polls by Murphy Fair's 2010 Tennessee High School Football magazine, available now at Borders. Ravenwood is expected to finish third in the district. Brentwood Academy is predicted to finish atop its region and was voted second statewide in Division II-AA.
