ABOVE: Cookie, the adoptable Pet of the Week, is a lovable, seven-year-old female who loves to go on long walks and play outside. Cookie is deaf, but she is learning simple commands with the use of hand signals. She is also on a special diet and takes medication for digestive issues. If you have a heart for a special needs dog, and are committed to her long-term care, please contact the Williamson County Animal Center in Franklin, 106 Claude Yates Dr.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY ANIMAL CENTER

Community rabies clinics presented by Williamson County Animal Center continue on Saturday, April 13, at three locations.

Recently, the Tennessee Department of Health confirmed rabies in one skunk in Williamson County. WCAC reminds area residents to vaccinate their pets against the deadly rabies virus. Protecting pets from this fatal illness is safe, easy and effective. The State of Tennessee requires all dogs, cats and ferrets to be current on rabies vaccinations.

Clinics are open to the public and staffed by local veterinary clinics. Rabies shots are $10 per pet. Please bring cash or a check for payment. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in carriers. Microchips are available only at the Williamson County Animal Center location (April 27) for an additional fee of $15 per pet.

Note: Clinics could be cancelled in the event of severe weather.
