The Brentwood Rotary Club will turn Brentwood Middle School into a pop-up pancake palace for the 39th year in a row on Saturday, April 9.
How many pancakes can you eat in five minutes?
The person who can eat the most will win a trophy and $200 in cash either for themselves or for a sponsoring organization during the 39th Annual Brentwood Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast.
The pancake eating contest is new this year. Rules and the contestant application form can be found here.
The event is 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Brentwood Middle School, 5324 Murray Lane.
The pancake mix supplier for the landmark Chattanooga restaurant, Aretha Frankenstein’s is a partner in the breakfast, in addition to Wampler’s Sausage, Kroger, US Foods, Purity Dairy and Coca-Cola. Event proceeds are distributed to local charitable organizations, as well as in the form of scholarships to area students via the Brentwood Rotary Club Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit that has distributed more than $500,000 within the community to date.
The Rotary “Clown Crew,” along with several outside games added a few years ago for the kids, have proved to be a big hit. An American Red Cross Blood Drive will also be held in the neighboring school gym during the event, giving grown-ups an opportunity to replenish the local blood supply.
Local corporate sponsors and retail businesses have the opportunity this year to purchase a table sponsorship. For table sponsorship or ticket information, contact Brentwood Rotary President Linas Sudzius at email@example.com.
