Representatives of The Pat Summitt Foundation expressed their appreciation to a group of Nashville business people for choosing the foundation for the seventh consecutive year to receive proceeds from its Alzheimer’s Golf Classic.
The 2018 tournament was held on Monday, June 4, at The Governors Club in Brentwood, fielding 38 teams and and raising more than $150,000 in net proceeds for the foundation. Major sponsors of this year’s tournament included National HealthCare Corporation (NHC), The Morehead Family, Pendleton Square Trust, Susan Nokes, Shaub Construction, and Capital Wealth Advisors.
Event organizer Mike Estes, with Capital Wealth Advisors noted, “Pat’s ability to motivate people is
her greatest legacy. Patrons came from seven different states and the Dominican Republic to help in
the fight against Alzheimer’s.”

The Pat Summitt Foundation, a fund of East Tennessee Foundation, was established by Pat and Tyler
Summitt in November 2011. Its mission is to award grants to non-profit organizations that advance
research for treatment and a cure, provide support for patients and caregivers, and educate the public about Alzheimer’s disease.
