Elley Stanga, daughter of Christy and Ben Stanga, is a senior at Brentwood Academy and a member of the Varsity Girls Soccer Team.
She plays the position of goalkeeper for the team. She said the highlight of the season was the game against Chattanooga’s Girls Preparatory School.
“It was very competitive,” Stanga said, adding, “Also we beat Baylor for the first time this year.”
She picked up a soccer ball at the young age of three when she joined her church’s league. She said from there, her interest in the sport only grew.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “working for my teammates motivates me to push myself.”
Her biggest role models are her parents, Christy and Ben.
“They are so selfless and work very hard at everything they do,” she said.
Outside of soccer, Stanga enjoys baking, specifically cheesecake.
She said she is currently unsure of where she will attend college, but she is planning to major in nursing or pre-med. Eventually, she hopes to have a career in pediatrics.
