Myers Baldock, daughter of Jennifer and Jud Baldock, is a junior at Brentwood Academy and a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Team.
She holds the position of side base for the team, and has been in this position since middle school.
Baldock got her start in cheer in fourth grade and said from then on, it’s been a love of hers.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete, she said she owes it all to her coaches and her teammates.
She said that her mother, Jennifer, is one of her biggest role models and inspirations.
“She is very hardworking and I look up to her,” she said.
Baldock described herself as hardworking, which is a quality she thinks is vital to cheering. She said she often has mental blocks in cheer and has to push past them with diligence and concentration.
Head Cheerleading Coach Chandler Blaylock said of Baldock, “Myers is a stand out leader on our squad. She leads with grace and is patient and kind to her teammates. She strives each practice to better our squad.”
Outside of cheerleading, she said her favorite thing to do is just spend time with friends.
After graduating from BA next year, she hopes to go to The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She would like to major in business.
