Joshua Allen, son of Julie Hannah and Jody Allen, is a junior at Brentwood Academy and a member of the Varsity Cross Country Team.
He is also a member of the track team. He started running track in middle school and decided to add on cross country in high school when he realized just how important running had become to him.
This season, the team won the state championship in November and competed in Nike Regionals against 35 other teams and placed sixth.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he said, “Being with the team… I want to be the best I can be in the moment… do whatever I can to be good.”
Allen said that his biggest challenge in running is staying consistent due to the long training periods.
One of his biggest role models and motivators when things get tough is his father, Jody. “He’s always worked hard for what he’s gotten,” Allen said of his father.
When it comes to academics, Allen said that theater design with Mr. U is his favorite class. He said he enjoys working with power tools and using his hands to create sets for theater.
After graduating from Brentwood Academy, he plans to attend college. He hopes to continue his running career and pursue a career track in Business or Marketing.
