Blair Schoenwald, daughter of Terri and Mark Schoenwald, is a junior at Brentwood Academy and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
She is a member of the Varsity Girls Basketball Team and plays the position of point guard. This season, she scored 18 points against Madison Academy and 16 points against a main rival, Father Ryan High School.
Schoenwald got into the game through her brothers; both of them played basketball at a young age. “I’ve grown up in the gym since I was very young,” she said.
When asked what inspires her to continue training and competing she said, “Watching other female college players succeed and reach their dreams” keeps her motivated.
Her biggest role models are her brothers. “They constantly encourage me and push me to improve each day,” she said.
She describes herself as passionate, hard-working, dedicated and caring. When she’s not on the court, she enjoys listening to music, spending time with friends and being outdoors.
After graduating from BA next year, she plans to continue her basketball career at a Division I college. She is considering Belmont University, Lipscomb University and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She eventually hopes to become a physical therapist or work in Sports Management.
