Isaac Emery, son of Eric and Edie Emery, is a senior at Brentwood Academy and this week’s Kerr & Co. Athlete of the Week.
He is a member of the Varsity Baseball Team and plays the position of second base. In a recent game against Davidson Academy, he had a two-run double and a diving play.
Emery started playing baseball at the age of seven. He played travel ball a majority of that time, and started playing at BA in 7th grade.
When asked what inspires him to continue working on his skill and training he said, “I am competitive by nature and I always want to be the best I can to help my team.”
Emery said that his two biggest role models are his older brothers, Matt and Tyler.
“They are 28 and 25. Both were high school athletes who worked hard and excelled. They have always motivated me to do my best,” he said. He added that since both are quite a bit older, they always were able to beat him in baseball, which only made him want to get better.
He describes himself as upbeat and outgoing. When he’s not on the field, he enjoys duck hunting, fishing, and following UT sports.
After graduating from BA in the spring, he plans to attend The University of Tennessee-Knoxville where he will pursue a degree in business analytics.
