Annie Strong, daughter of Joe and Amy Strong, is a sophomore at Brentwood Academy and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
She is a member of the Track & Field Team and has been competing since she was in sixth grade. She said a year after beginning, in seventh grade, she realized it was something she wanted to seriously pursue. “Coach Holmes played a big role in this,” Strong said. “She pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me figure out my strengths.”
When asked what inspires her to continue training and competing she said, “I am very competitive, especially with myself. I always want to be the best me I can be in order to help my team.”
Strong said her biggest role model is her mother, Amy. “She has always been my biggest supporter and is very encouraging,” she said.
She describes herself as determined, hard working and outgoing. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, basketball and being outdoors.
With two more years of high school left, Strong is currently still working on her collegiate plans. She knows she would like to compete in track & field at the next level and possibly major in business.
