Gannon Tissot, son of Bill and Brigitt Tissot, is a senior at Brentwood Academy and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
He is the captain of the Varsity Boys Soccer Team and plays the position of center back.
Tissot started playing soccer in a rec league at the age of five. Before moving to Tennessee, Tissot and his family lived in Michigan. Upon moving to Brentwood, he decided to play for Tennessee Soccer Club. He said that TSC really taught him “to be a great player and person.”
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he said, “I train and compete hard to set an example and inspire the younger guys on the team. I hope that by working hard, the team will feel encouraged to push themselves harder, too.”
Tissot said his biggest role models are his soccer coaches, JD Binger and Phil Masters. “They have taught me how to be tough both mentally and physically on the field, but also in life.”
He describes himself as disciplined, a leader, encouraging and fun. When he’s not on the field, he enjoys spending time with friends, camping, fishing and being outdoors.
In the fall, Tissot will attend The University of Tennessee- Knoxville where he will either participate in club soccer or ROTC. After completing his undergraduate degree, he hopes to pursue further education to obtain a career in the medical field.
