Mickey Ellison, son of Jason and Kim Ellison, is a senior at Brentwood Academy and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
He is a member of the Varsity Boys Soccer Team and plays the position of attacking mid. This season, he scored the winning goals against both Lipscomb Academy and Pope John Paul II.
Ellison credits his father for his introduction to the sport. “My dad loves soccer… he introduced it to me at a young age,” he said.
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “Coach Binger always inspires me to give my best effort. I do it not only for myself, but for my team because they are counting on me.”
One of his biggest role models is his father, Jason. “He was a great soccer player and he has been so supportive and encouraging to me through my years of playing soccer,” Ellison said.
He describes himself as a fighter and a leader. Outside of soccer, he enjoys skateboarding and fishing.
After graduating from BA this spring, he will play soccer for Cedarville University. After finishing there, he hopes to do mission work in other countries.
