Harry Lackey, son of Doug and Sherri Lackey, is this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
He is a junior at Brentwood High School and a member of the Varsity Boys Basketball Team.
He plays the position of small forward for the team. Most recently, he scored 23 points in a game against Dickson County and helped his team win against Page High.
Lackey said his interest in basketball was natural, as he had grown up around the sport.
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “to be the best I can be and reach my maximum potential.”
He said one of his biggest role models is Kawhi Leonard, a professional basketball player. “He has a very stoic attitude and lets his game do the talking,” Lackey said in admiration.
Lackey describes himself as athletic, down to earth, witty and relaxed.
BHS Basketball Coach Greg Shirley said of him, “Harry Lackey has had three tremendous games in a row. He connected on 19 out of 28 shots from the floor in the three victories. Harry is an explosive player, and I am very proud of him on and off the floor.”
After graduating from BHS next year, he is planning to continue his basketball career at a Division I college. He is currently undecided as to where he will attend.
