Georgia Fischer, daughter of Martin and Dana Fischer, is a senior at Brentwood High School and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
She is a member of the Varsity Tennis Team. She was the District Player of the Year last year and has gone undefeated all four years of high school.
Fischer said she ended up playing tennis after following in her brother’s footsteps; he played competitively.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “My coach is a huge inspiration and the people I train with make it so much fun and competitive.”
One of her biggest role models is professional tennis player, Roger Federer. “He is the best tennis player ever and conducts himself the best as well,” she said.
BHS Tennis Coach Bud Robison said of Fischer, “Georgia sets the bar high and achieves her goals; three-time State Team Champion and three-time Doubles Champion. If experience is an advantage, Georgia is multiple steps ahead of the competition. When I have questions, I regularly turn to her because her opinion is well-informed. She will be an integral part of our success this year and I wish her nothing but success in the future.”
Outside of tennis, Fischer said one of her main passions is Younglife.
After graduating this year, she will go on to play tennis for Wofford College. She plans to pursue a career in orthodontics.
