Ben Mills, son of Paige and Craig Mills, is a senior at Brentwood High School and a member of the Varsity Boys Basketball Team.
He plays the position of center. This season, Mills said the biggest highlights were scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds against Ravenwood.
Mills said that he started playing basketball at the age of five and has been playing ever since.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he said, “I want to be the best player I can possibly be and I want to win the State Championship.”
Head Basketball Coach Greg Shirley said of Mills, “Ben Mills is a true definition of a scholar athlete. His dedication in the classroom and on the basketball court has made Ben one of the top post players in the area. Ben has had several games where he has scored and rebounded in double digits.”
One of his biggest role models is Tennessee Titan’s quarterback Marcus Mariota.
“He is humble, kind and a leader,” Mills said.
Outside of basketball, he enjoys fishing, hiking and spending time with friends.
After graduating this year, he plans to play basketball at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and study Engineering.
