ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Brentwood High School

Ali Staggs

Ali Staggs, daughter of Ryan and Christy Staggs, is a sophomore at Brentwood High School and a member of the Bowling Team.

This season, she got a new high score of 167.

Staggs said she joined the Bowling Team as something new and fun to try. “It’s the only sport that lets you eat while doing it! It’s super fun and chill!”

When asked what inspires her to continue training and competing she said she owes all her motivation to her teammates.

One of her biggest role models is one of her teammates, Molly Austin.

“She’s my role model because she always knows how to hype the team up and get us ready to steamroll,” she said.

Head Bowling Coach Brian Popovich said of Staggs, “Ali is a consistently solid performer. She is rarely shaken off her game, and as a consequence she has truly become an anchor for the girls squad over the entire season.”

Outside of bowling, Staggs enjoys participating in the school choir.

With a couple of years at Brentwood High left, she is currently undecided about her collegiate plans.
