Ethan Pennell, son of Ronnie and Gretchen Pennell, is a senior at Brentwood High School and a member of the Boys Bowling Team.
This season, he held the position of sixth man and had a high score of 234. The team was also named District Champions.
Of his start in the game, Pennell said he had “always had a fascination with the art of bowling,” but he didn’t actually start bowling until recently with his Young Life group.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he said he is inspired to be better than his teammates and especially his “good friend Nick Porte.”
Head Bowling Coach Brian Popovich said of Pennell, “Ethan is a true competitor who constantly looks for ways to be a better bowler and a better teammate. His performance during the District Tourney propelled the boys team to the finals, in which he bowled some of his best games of the season.”
Outside of bowling, he enjoys competing in the U17 Wrestling League. He said it “helps with throw strength.” He also has a meme account on Instagram that he said has a lot of fun running.
After graduating from BHS, he plans to attend The University of Tennessee- Knoxville to study to become an Aeronautical Engineer.
