Stone Ferguson, son of Michael and Kelly Ferguson, is a senior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
He is a member of the Varsity Boys Soccer Team and plays the positions of forward and outside back. This season in a set of games in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, he scored three goals and had two assists.
Ferguson started playing soccer when he was three years old. He said he remembers watching his older brother play and quickly became hooked himself.
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “To be better than I am now. I want to always push my limits. My family is also a very big inspiration.”
He said his parents, Michael and Kelly, are his biggest role models.
“They are everything to me… they are always helping me grow and mature,” he said. “I wouldn’t be who I am without them.”
RHS Soccer Coach Adam Harris said of Ferguson, “After a slow start to his season, Stone has really started to find himself. He scored three goals, including one amazing free kick, and had an assist in the Gatlinburg tournament this weekend.”
Ferguson describes himself as dedicated, outgoing and kindhearted. Outside of soccer, he enjoys playing disc golf and video games.
After graduating from RHS, he plans to play soccer at Limestone College. One day, he hopes to play soccer professionally.
