Jordan Smith, son of Robert and Heidi Smith, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and a member of the varsity boys football team.
He plays the positions of running back, safety and outside linebacker. So far this season, he has had two interceptions, 18 tackles and one touchdown.
Smith started playing football when he was only in third grade. He said he was prompted to start by friends and his father.
When asked what continues to inspire him to train and compete he said, “The opportunity to play at the next level and to be the best I can be on and off the field.”
His biggest influence and role model is his father. “He supports me in all I do and helps me to become the best I can,” Smith said.
RHS football coach said of Smith, “After moving to the defensive side of the ball this season, Jordan has had plenty of early success, helping the team complete a string of second half comebacks. Last Friday at Franklin, Jordan led the defense with seven tackles and one interception.”
Outside of football, Smith enjoys playing guitar, photography and hiking.
After graduating from RHS next year, he plans to go to college where he will continue playing football and pursue a career in math or science.
