Luke Shouse, son of Helen Shouse, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and a member of the Varsity Football Team.
He plays the position of defensive end for the team. This season in a game against Independence High School, he had two fumble recoveries, two sacks, and four tackles.
Shouse has been playing football since he was five years old. Since then, he said he hasn’t stopped playing.
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “I see football as a possible future for me so I want to go out and be the best.”
One of his biggest role models is his mother, Helen.
“She is a very hardworking, determined, strong minded person,” he said.
RHS Football Coach Matt Daniels said of him:
Luke led a Raptor defense last week against a highly touted Indy offense in a shut out effort through three quarters of varsity play. Luke recovered two fumbles, was heavily involved in stopping the inside and outside run game and provided tremendous pressure on the quarterback in passing situations. Luke has really stepped up as a leader on our team this year and taken his game to the next level. I cannot wait to see him elevate his game even further with the playoffs coming up.
After graduating from RHS, he plans to get a football scholarship and continue his football career at the collegiate level.
