Olivia Corley, daughter of Sherry and Robert Corley, is this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
She is a senior at Ravenwood High School and a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Team. She holds the position of flyer for the team. She said her biggest highlight in her time with the BHS squad was winning Nationals in 2017.
Corley said her start in cheer came naturally, as she was already a dancer. She just wanted to try something new.
When asked what inspires her to continue training and competing she said, “I want to win Nationals again, and that is what inspires me. It is something I keep working hard for and something I look forward to doing.”
One of her biggest role models is her cheer coach, Barbee. “[She] inspires me to always keep trying my best and to never give up. She never stops believing in me.”
Stephanie Dykes, the Head Cheer Coach at RHS said of Corley, “As a flyer, Olivia is fearless. She is always willing to try new skills, no matter how challenging. Olivia is always making others around her smile and laugh with her charismatic wit and energy.”
Corley describes herself as dedicated and hardworking. Outside of cheer, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
After graduating from RHS this year, she plans to continue her cheer career at The University of Tennessee- Knoxville.
