A real estate blog known for its “top 10″ lists ranked Brentwood second in “The Best Places in Tennessee,” with Nolensville coming in seventh.

Movato calls itself “the lighter side of real estate” and uses seven criteria to rank Tennessee’s cities, including cost of living, crime rate, median household income and high school diploma attainment.

Signal Mountain, just outside Chattanooga, superseded Brentwood for the No. 1 spot.

But Brentwood was called “easily the most affluent on our list, with a median household income of $126,787.”

Movato also praised Brentwood’s high school diploma attainment rate of 97 percent, and was called one of the safest places on the list.

“It’s no wonder why people like Dolly Parton, Ke$ha, Garth Brooks and Niki Taylor call Brentwood home,” the post read.

Nolensville is the smallest town on the list and was ranked for its high median rent and low crime rate. However, Movato reported the cost of living in Nolensville is 20 percent higher than the state’s average.

Spring Hill, partially in Williamson County, also made the list at No. 8.
