It’s almost as if the Brentwood Academy boys track and field team has been here before.
The Eagles’ 151 points was good enough to give the team the D-II AA state title, outscoring rival MBA (136.50) for the year’s Spring Fling festivities.
The championship is BA’s fifth in a row for the boys program, as athletes proudly flashed open fives with their hands to signify the accomplishment.
For gold-placing Eagles, Aaron Lovins won the high jump (1.93m), Georgia State football commit Thomas Gore won the shot put (16.82m) and Matthew Porter won the 3200m run (9:42.04).
The team came in second (Porter), third (Matthew McMillan) and fourth (George Payne) in the 1600m run.
In the decathlon round, Shane Farrow got the gold in the pole vault (3.96m), and Lovins won the shot put (13.33m) and the long jump (1.93m).
