Brentwood Academy suspends several basketball players following locker room incident

Brentwood Academy released a statement on Wednesday following the suspension of four basketball players and cancellation of a game last week.

“Last week, a number of students failed to meet the high expectations we have for them at Brentwood Academy,” writes BA Spokeswoman Susan Shafer. “As a result, the students involved have been disciplined.”

According to Shafer, the school was made aware of the incident last Thursday. Shafer says BA then took disciplinary action with the students.

“While Brentwood Academy has been transparent about its disciplinary procedures with the students and parents involved, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our students and families,” Shafer said. “We are not going to elaborate further on student discipline.”

No other details of the incident were released.

Since August, the private school has been facing a civil lawsuit and State investigation following claims of negligence surrounding incidents in the same locker room several years ago, which the school has vehemently denied https://.com/brentwood-academy-headmaster-denies-claims-of-negligence-in-sexual-assault-lawsuit/
