The Brentwood addiction treatment company Spero Health added a new executive to oversee operations last week.
The company hired Edward Littlejohn to be the Chief Operating Officer. Littlejohn has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including prior roles as COO at other companies.
Most recently, he was responsible for operation of nine medical facilities across six states for Meridian Behavioral Health Systems. He also served as the COO of hospitals within Tenet Healthcare and Kaiser Permanente.
In a press release, the company announced Littlejohn will be responsible for day-to-day operations and will focus on continued operational improvement, integration and other strategic initiatives.
Spero bought more than 20 addiction treatment clinics from another company in 2018. Since October the company has opened several new clinics, and plans to continue expanding.
Providing care for more than 5,300 patients each month, Spero calls itself one of the largest office-based opioid treatment providers in the country.
