Brentwood Country Club Director of Golf Johnny Bridgeman, who after more than 35 years at the club is considered a local golf legend, officiated at the 2019 PGA Championship this past weekend at the Bethpage Black Course in Old Bethpage, New York.
As part of his duties as a member of the PGA Board, Bridgeman was the official at 10th tee box on Friday morning, and on the 18th Green Saturday.
Golfer Brooks Koepka won the championship, on what is described as a “very difficult” golf course.
The PGA Championship is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. It is one of the four major championships in professional golf.
This year’s tournament was the 101st.
