Brentwood Dermatology, a practice that has served Brentwood and the surrounding communities for more than 35 years, announced today the addition of a Fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon to its staff.
John Starling III, M.D. will provide both general dermatology and Mohs surgical care to patients throughout the region.
With the addition of Dr. Starling to its staff, Brentwood Dermatology’s patients now have increased access to advanced skin cancer care. Dr. Starling is now accepting new patients.
“We are pleased to add such a well-trained and talented dermatologist to our team,” says Dr. William McDaniel, founder of Brentwood Dermatology. “Dr. Starling will allow us to give our patients greater access to advanced skin cancer treatment. We look forward to him helping Brentwood Dermatology continue to build upon our reputation for providing the highest-quality care and patient satisfaction.”
Mohs surgery treats certain types of skin cancer by removing the cancerous cells layer by layer with a laser. Mohs surgery helps the dermatologist verify that the tumor is completely removed because it allows the physician to examine the tissue throughout the procedure. This surgical procedure is performed in the dermatology office on an outpatient basis.
Dr. Starling is a board-certified dermatologist as well as a Fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. Dr. Starling then earned his medical degree from The University of Tennessee-Memphis School of Medicine. He completed a dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, and a Fellowship in ACGME Procedural Dermatology at The Good Samaritan Tri Health/ The Skin Cancer Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Patients can schedule an appointment with Dr. Starling by calling Brentwood Dermatology at 615-377-3448.
