Brentwood Hills Church of Christ and Morning Pointe of Brentwood residents, including church members, have worked together the past few years through the church’s Love Bears Ministry, which distributes handmade teddy bears to children in need.
For the past several years, BHCC and Morning Pointe have partnered to bring these teddy bears to life, with church members and residents from the assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community working together once a month to sew and stuff the bears.
“It was wonderful for our residents to learn more about this ministry and to find out that these sweet bears are distributed locally to hospitals, fire stations, and police stations and globally to countries like Honduras and Guatemala,” says Chris Phillips, one of the life enrichment directors at Morning Pointe. “Our residents enjoyed the fellowship, friendship, and the opportunity to give back to the community. Over the years, our residents have had a hand in the creation of hundreds of love bears. What a blessing!”
