Franklin artist Kathie Duncan Parks creates full-color pen and ink drawings, as well as acrylic paintings, of pets. She is self-taught, and credits her family for encouraging her.

The library will also display tile mosaics created by Laurie Davis. She studied art at the University of Tennessee, and has also studied with enamel artists Mary Chuduck and Ricky Frank.

Nature provides much of Davis’ inspiration, with many pieces motivated by the ocean or the woods. The outside world translate beautifully into glass and mosaic designs. Her work is a blend of glass, tiles, beads, found objects and enameled glass on copper.

The John P. Holt Brentwood Library and the Friends of the Brentwood Library host creations from two local artists at the library each month.

If you are an artist and interested in exhibiting at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library, please contact the Friends of the Brentwood Library Art Chair, Jeannine Owns at brentwoodfriends@gmail.com.
