Brentwood Police identify a suspect in parking lot incident that injured an officer

BRENTWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT

Brentwood Police detectives have identified a suspect in connection with the Monday, October 1, shoplifting incident at TJ Maxx where a Brentwood officer was injured.

Police are searching for Keydarius Simmons, 25, who is alleged to have injured Brentwood Officer Scott Willey with his car while attempting to flee the TJ Maxx parking lot at 330 Franklin Road on Monday night.

Simmons was approached by officers as he left the store after being suspected of shoplifting. He fled on foot to a waiting vehicle and as he was attempting to drive away Officer Willey was thrown from the vehicle and injured when his head struck the pavement.

Simmons is a black male, 5’9” tall, 150 pounds, and has multiple distinctive tattoos on his face, neck and arms. He was last known to be driving a 2018 Kia Optima with Maryland license plate 9DF8504. Simmons has numerous active warrants with the Brentwood Police Department, Metro Nashville Police Department, and other area agencies.
