For Brentwood High School baseball second baseman Jack Rando, his college pick will only require a short drive across town.
The rising senior shared his selection of Belmont University Monday to stay a Bruin and continue his career.
“Thank you to the Belmont coaches for the opportunity to keep doing what I love,” Rando said in his Twitter announcement.
“Thanks to my family, my coaches, and the people who have helped me get to this point.”
He’ll be joining a Bruins team that’s coming off a 2019 Ohio Valley tourney exit.
Rando will also join former Brentwood Bruin Carson Shacklett and Centennial grad Kyle Brennan, who will be upperclassmen when Rando joins Belmont.
Perhaps his future will be the same as Matt Beaty’s, a Belmont alum who now suits up in the MLB with the Dodgers.
For now, Rando will return to the diamond with Brentwood next spring.
Excited to announce that I have committed to play baseball at Belmont University. Thank you to the Belmont coaches for the opportunity to keep doing what I love. Thanks to my family, my coaches, and the people who have helped me get to this point. #bruin4life @BelmontBaseball pic.twitter.com/rsvPoeTJoV
