Candidates line up for municipal elections, with Nolensville mayor filing first

Candidates are beginning to line up for municipal elections in November for Fairview, Nolensville and Thompson’s Station.

Incumbent Nolensville Mayor Jimmy Alexander is the first contender to have filed his petition for election.

Petitions became available May 18. The qualifying deadline is Aug. 16.

Alexander filed his petition on May 25.

Alderman Brian Snyder picked up petitions both for mayor and for alderman on May 18.

Derek Adams, Steve Cody, Dale F. Gustafson and Dustin Serpas also picked up alderman petitions.

Nolensville will elect the mayor and two aldermen.

Thompson’s Station Mayor Cory Napier picked up a mayor petition on May 18.

Alex Brown, Trent Harris and John G. Peterson have picked up alderman petitions for Thompson’s Station.

Thompson’s Station will elect a mayor and two aldermen.

In Fairview, two newcomers have picked up mayor petitions: John W. Blade and Antwuane Scruggs.

Fairview will be choosing the mayor and one city commissioner.

The voter registration deadline for the November election is Monday, Oct. 8. Early voting runs Oct. 17 through Nov. 1.

The election is Nov. 6.
