CITY CAFE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Brentwood QB Cade Granzow, K Thomas Day

Another week, another superlative for Brentwood High School junior quarterback Cade Granzow.

He was our first City Cafe Player of the Week for his gritty performance against MBA, and he takes another installment of the honor for the Bruins’ 25-14 upset win against super rival Ravenwood in Friday’s Battle of the Woods.

Our Jake Donovan wrote that Granzow had “272 yards in the air of 24/36 passing, throwing for one touchdown and running in another in engineering a near perfect ball game from the Bruins.”

The Battle of the Woods is the perfect time for a “near perfect ball game,” and we extend this week’s Player of the Week honors to Bruins kicker Thomas Day as well.

Day had four field goals in the game and kept the Bruins in it early before the offense took over.

“Thomas Day goes 4/4, hitting every field goal, which was huge because we knew points would be at a premium,” Brentwood head coach Ron Crawford said of his kicker.

This rivalry continues to be the crown jewel of the Williamson County football schedule, and these two Bruins did more than enough to keep the regular season bragging rights with Brentwood.

That earns them our City Cafe Player of the Week honor.
