City to explore design, budget costs for new police headquarters

Plans for Brentwood’s new police headquarters project are still in the works, and city leaders will meet to discuss the project’s progress Monday at a special City Commission work session.

The police headquarters is set to be located between the Indoor Sports Complex on Concord Road and The Heritage at Brentwood.

Assistant Police Chief Tommy Walsh said the lot being considered for the new headquarters is currently being used as a parking lot for construction vehicles working on the Heritage Project.

A previous report on the headquarters project estimated a cost of $20 million. That number came after the city completed a study to determine space needs and develop a budget.

Now, the Brentwood Board of Commissioners will hold a special work session Monday night to revisit the plans.

Director of Community Relations Deanna Lambert said the commission will specifically discuss some of the exterior design elements and budget costs.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held Monday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. in City Hall, located at 5211 Maryland Way in Brentwood.
