Cold Friday will follow second week of football playoffs, though rain should hold

While some teams hope for a downpour of points Friday night as they fight to advance in the playoffs (and others a wish to avoid one), at least a different kind of downpour looks to be skipping the area in time for kickoff.

The Weather Channel predicts right now that the Nashville and Williamson County area will evade the rain front that will stick around in the area early in the day.

Rain will continually fall in areas like Brentwood and Franklin until right around early lunch, when the forecast says the precipitation will dwindle into cloudy and mostly cloudy skies.

Though, the temperatures might not be as friendly.

The Weather Channel says that a cold front is near, with the numbers dropping well into the low 40s and high 30s right around kickoff across the state.

Some WillCo teams will be traveling to cities like Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga.

So, though you might not need an umbrella, perhaps consider breaking out that winter coat. The stands could get a bit chilly once the big game gets underway.

And for those worried about the temperature dropping below freezing at any point in the night, it’s not expected to get below 32 until after 11:00 p.m.

Freezing temperatures will continue late into the night and well into the next morning, though.

Below is the schedule of games for the week. All games start at 7:00 p.m.
