County’s recovery courts to hold celebration honoring programs’ alumni

STAFF REPORTS

Alumni from the recovery courts of Williamson County will share testimony on how their lives have changed after going through the programs in a celebration being held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Historic Williamson County Courthouse.

The public is invited.

Judge Denise Andre, Presiding Judge of the Williamson County DUI Court, has organized the “Night of Recovery” event to honor the men and women served by Williamson County and the 21st Judicial District Recovery Courts. In addition to those from the DUI Court, alumni will also be from the Williamson County Veterans Court and the 21st District Recovery Court.

The judges from the three courts will also talk about the life-changing programs, as well as members of the court teams. This is the first time the three courts have collaborated to host an event, according to Scott Pieper, coordinator for Williamson County DUI Recovery Court.

A reception will follow the testimonies.
