CRIME REPORT: Few thefts from cars, but more reports of shoplifting

After several weeks with high numbers of thefts from cars, there was only report last week.

Someone stole some checks, sunglasses and a radar detector from a car parked at a shopping center on Franklin Road.

However, during the past week several people were suspected by the Brentwood Police Department of stealing from businesses.

Someone reported jewelry that went missing from a hotel room near Maryland Farms. Several cameras and digital recorders went missing from an office near Maryland Way and Granny White Pike.

Police arrested someone suspected of stealing Blu-Ray discs from an electronics store in southern Brentwood. Another person is suspected of stealing items from a clothing store in southern Brentwood.

A restaurant near Old Hickory Boulevard reported a missing bag of cash that was locked up in a safe.

In addition, police reported that someone stole some money from a business near Church Street and Overlook Drive. A teenager carrying a skateboard is suspected of stealing name plates and coffee mugs from an office on Franklin Road.
