In Brentwood last week, there were several different crimes committed including armed robbery of a bank, a stolen library plaque and a few stolen purses.
As previously reported by the Home Page, a gunman robbed a bank on Franklin Road on Saturday morning, fleeing on foot with an unknown amount of cash. The Brentwood Police Department is currently investigating the robbery.
Last week, a plaque at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library disappeared. The 11 inch by 8.5 inch plaque was screwed onto a sculpted bench that was recently donated to the library.
The plaque sated the name of the artwork and the name of the artist. It also noted that the bench was donated by the Friend of the Library to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The Friends of the Library Board plans on replacing the stolen plaque.
The theft happened sometime between April 1 and April 12. Police have not identified any suspects.
Library director Susan Earl said that the library plans to put a security camera outside the library to make sure it does not happen again.
Additionally, a purse was stolen from a car on Mansion Drive, and another purse from a car near Crocket Park.
Shoplifters also took merchandise from TJ Maxx, the Home Depot and Old Navy.
