CRIME REPORT: Handgun with ammunition stolen from residence, HVAC unit vandalized this week in Brentwood

The Brentwood Police Department’s weekly crime report showed a variety of incidents including residential burglary, vandalism and grocery theft.

Most alarmingly, police reported that someone stole a handgun with ammunition from a home on Forest Trail last Friday afternoon. Police say there were no signs of forced entry and they have no suspects.

A laptop was stolen from a loaner vehicle after the victim accidentally left it behind. The theft occurred sometime between May 20 and June 14, according to the report. Police have no suspects.

A purse and its contents were stolen from a vehicle at Owl Creek Park Tuesday morning after the vehicle’s front passenger side window was broken. There are no suspects.

A Rosewood Court resident was the victim of vandalism this week after someone cut the exterior wiring to their home’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit. Police have no suspects.

Last Friday, someone attempted to steal items from the Publix grocery store on Moores Lane. The suspect has been arrested.

A wallet and its contents were stolen from someone’s shopping cart at the same Publix on Sunday afternoon. Police say the suspect is a 6-foot, black male weighing approximately 250 pounds. He was wearing a blue shirt and jeans.

A bicycle and trimmer were reportedly taken from a carport on Moores Lane during the day on Sunday. Police have no suspects.

There were no reports business burglary, motor vehicle theft or robbery this week.
