CRIME REPORT: Car burglaries, shoplifting incidents mark week in crime

It was another relatively light week for crime in Brentwood, judging from the latest crime report provided by the Brentwood Police Department.

There were a total of four thefts reported in the city last week, according to the report.

Two of those incidents involved cars.

The first occurred in the late afternoon of Thursday, March 15 at the Brentwood Family YMCA on Concord Road. A car window was broken and a purse stolen.

The report lists three unknown suspects who fled in a silver SUV as being possibly connected to the crime.

The next car burglary took place in either the morning or early afternoon of Friday, March 16 in the Brentwood Country Club subdivision. Money and a credit card were stolen from an unlocked car on the 5200 block of Country Club Drive.

Police have no suspects, according to the report.

There were also two cases of shoplifting reported in Brentwood over the past week.

In the first instance, laundry detergent was stolen from the Kroger on Franklin Road on the evening of Monday, March 19.

The next occurred on the evening of Tuesday, March 20. In that case, a cell phone was stolen from the Best Buy on Galleria Boulevard.

Both of these cases of shoplifting resulted in arrests, according to the report.
