Shoppers tried to steal merchandise from several stores in Brentwood last week, but police caught some of the people accused of theft.

Police issued a trespassing warning to a customer who tried to steal golf shoes from a store on Franklin Road. Brentwood Police also arrested a customer who tried to steal video game components from a retail store on Galleria Boulevard last Friday.

In another incident, one suspect tricked an employee into thinking that a credit card transaction was approved on Tuesday. That suspect worked with another person to steal two grills and some accessories from a store on Moores Lane. Police did not find those suspects.

Additionally, some jewelry was stolen from a home on Jones Parkway. Someone slashed a vehicle’s tires at a home near General George Patton Drive. Another resident lost some sunglasses and cash after someone broke into an unlocked car over the weekend. Someone stole a water heater, light fixtures and a sink from two homes under construction last week.
