CRIME REPORT: Suspect arrested in connection with shooting at a Brentwood gas station

Metro Nashville Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms arrested a man suspected of shooting a clerk at gas station in Brentwood last month.

In December, Azreal Scribner was charged with the Brentwood gas station robbery and shooting in federal court. 

On the night of November 18, a masked suspect armed with a handgun attempted to rob a clerk at a the Mapco convenience store at the intersection of Franklin Road and Church Street. The suspect shot the clerk, who was treated and has since recovered.

According to an affidavit, several law enforcement agencies began surveillance on the house where Scribner was living, and followed him to another apartment. When police confronted Scribner at the apartment, the affidavit says he admitted shooting the clerk in Brentwood, and also admitted to several other robberies.

The Brentwood Police Department didn’t report any violent crimes in its weekly crime analysis.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from TJ Maxx, SteinMart and Old Navy. They were arrest at TJ Maxx and police recovered items from the other stores. There were two other cases of shoplifting reported from TJ Maxx.

A man stole an energy drink from the Twice Daily on Moore’s Lane. Someone else stole a bag from the men’s locker room at the Maryland Farms YMCA. Someone broke into a car near Tower Park and stole a purse.

Police reported that someone slashed the tires on a car parked at a house on Franklin Road. Police also reported several other stolen items.
