CRIME REPORT: Bank robber threatens teller, quickly disappears

By MATT BLOIS

A bank robber threatened a teller and demanded currency at about 3 p.m. Thursday at Sun Trust Bank, 201 Franklin Road.

The robber fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash. Officers searched the area, but couldn’t find him. Police suspect he ran to a waiting vehicle and left.

Police did not make any arrests and they’re investigating the robbery.

With the exception of the robbery, police reported relatively few crimes in Brentwood last week. Two drivers reported that someone had broken a window and stolen items from their cars in the Maryland Farms area.

Police also report that someone scratched a vehicle with a sharp object in the Cool Springs area. Police arrested someone suspected of stealing jewelry, fragrances and clothing from a store on Franklin Road.

At a drug take back day on October 27, the Police Department collected 123 pounds of unwanted or expired prescriptions. Brentwood City Hall located at 5211 Maryland Way has a permanent drug drop off box located in the lobby.
