Crime Report: Thieves possibly on spring break

Crime Report: Thieves possibly on spring break

By MATT BLOIS

Criminals targeting Brentwood seem to have mostly taken the week off.

The Police Department did report several stolen items, but no residential or business burglaries, no vandalism, no robberies and no thefts from motor vehicles.

Two commercial batteries were stolen out of an excavator at a construction site on Franklin Road sometime between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.

The only other crimes reported in the Police Department’s weekly crime analysis were stolen wallets and some blank checks taken from a business’s checkbook.

One person lost a wallet while shopping at the Publix on Moores Lane on Monday, and later discovered multiple fraudulent charges. Someone else had some credit cards stolen from a locker at the Maryland Farms YMCA on Wednesday. That theft also resulted in fraudulent charges.
