A dance instructor formerly employed by Franklin’s DC Dance Factory has been indicted on new charges this week after testimony from a Franklin Police Department detective.

Ross McCord of Brentwood was originally arrested by Franklin Police on Dec. 7, 2017 and charged with several offenses by a Davidson County Grand Jury, including aggravated statutory rape and exploitation of a minor, a 14-year-old girl.

The original 10 charges were levied against McCord after the girl’s parents came to police in October with what police called “disturbing” information about the former dance instructor and their daughter.

Adding to the charges from December are now three counts of statutory rape by an authority, three counts of aggravated statutory rape, and solicitation of a minor in a case involving a 15-year-old girl.

DC Dance Factory, which bills itself as Tennessee’s top dance school and boasts numerous national championship dance teams, could not be reached for comment on McCord’s employment.

He is currently jailed on a $75,000 bail bond in Davidson County, and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 11.
