A Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was honored with Deputy of the Month for September after saving a teen who was attempting suicide.
Deputy Daniel Solo was recognized after he saved a teenager from jumping from the Natchez Trace Bridge.
According to the news release, Soto was on routine patrol before dawn this summer when he saw someone standing on the outside of the bridge railing about to jump. Soto stopped his vehicle and pulled the unidentified teen to safety.
Soto is assigned to the Patrol Division and has worked for the WCSO for one year.
Toyota of Cool Springs General Sales Manager Kris Krabill presented a plaque to Deputy Soto and Toyota of Cool Springs will donate a check for $150 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as chosen by Deputy Solo.
The Natchez Trace Bridge has been the site of several suicides over the past few years prompting citizens and community and government leaders to speak out and take action.
