A former Ravenwood baseball assistant and coaching veteran has taken on a new assignment in the county.
Former Raptors assistant Dominic “Nico” Gregali is the new head coach for Fairview High School’s baseball team.
“We are excited about our hire of Coach Gregali and are looking forward to the knowledge and passion he brings to the classroom and baseball diamond,” Fairview principal Kurt Jones said in a release.
“I am confident he will bring our program back to the level of competing for championships on yearly basis.”
Gregali was on staff with now-retired coach Teddy Craig at Ravenwood starting in 2014 and helped the team reach region and district accolades, including two region titles in 2015 and 2018.
He has also coached collegiality, with a head stint with Southeastern Illinois College under his belt and time as an assistant with St. Louis Community College-Meramec.
The new Yellow Jackets coach played in college at Missouri-St. Louis and was a team captain.
