Franklin alum, Lipscomb standout Mathews named AP All-American team honorable mention

Franklin alum Garrison Mathews has had as prolific a 2018-19 college basketball season as any Williamson County alum has had in ages, but now he adds another feather to his cap.

He was named an honorable mention selection by the Associated Press on its annual All-American team.

He found himself on a list with notable names like Tennessee’s Admiral Schofield, North Carolina’s Cameron Johnson, SD State’s Mike Daum and LSU’s Tremont Waters.

Mathews and his Lipscomb Bisons are set to face off against Wichita State Tuesday night in the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a first for the university.
