Suspect in slashing attack turns himself in

FRANKLIN POLICE DEPARTMENT

A Franklin man wanted in an assault turned himself in at the jail  this afternoon following a bulletin distributed by the Franklin Police Department.

Reginald McLemore, 57, was dropped off by an acquaintance the jail shortly after 1 p.m. today. This morning Franklin Police and Crime Stoppers put out the word that he was wanted following the slashing attack on a Franklin woman outside a Cedar Drive home at 7:40 Tuesday night.

The victim suffered lacerations to her face and body. Luckily, the injuries were not life-threatening.

This was not a random attack, as McLemore and the victim are known to one another. McLemore fled the scene following the assault.
