Though we’re just now beginning to put up our Halloween decorations, it’s never to early to deck the halls and hop on over to The Franklin Theatre for a Christmas movie.
The downtown Franklin-based theater has announced its holiday film slate for the season ahead, kicking off with the Will Ferrell comedy Elf on Nov. 21.
Such holiday hits as National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, The Polar Express and A Christmas Story will intertwine with film classics like Miracle on 34th Street, The Bishop’s Wife and, of course, It’s a Wonderful Life.
For a special event to commemorate the lineup on Sunday, Dec. 16, the theater will welcome Mary Owen, the daughter of film star Donna Reed (Mary Bailey), for a screening of the film and a conversation about her mother’s movie and more.
The theater also has planned a calendar of holiday-themed concerts, including ones with American Idol contestant David Archuleta (Dec. 13, 14), country artists Deborah Allen (Dec. 15) and Lee Greenwood (Dec. 19) and more.
Tickets are on sale now for the Christmas movies ahead.
And for those not quite ready to get holly and jolly, the theater will run shows of 2018 horror hit A Quiet Place and the live-action Winnie the Pooh film Christopher Robin starting Friday, Nov. 2, and Saturday, Nov. 3, respectively.
All tickets for any show can be purchased either online at the theater’s website or at the box office.
You can also find a full slate of events and showtimes there.
